'BE ENGAGED' 28th June 2008

Hi All!

28th June 2008 saw the gathering of many Young Adults and Adults coming together to bridge with one another! It was a time of great fun and also a time of 'heart thoughts' exchanges. 39 people sat down and had a heart to heart talk of which 80% were Young Adults between the age of 19 - 40 years old. The many questions and perspectives shared thronged us to different angles of thoughts. It also gave all of us a chance to hear the heart cry of the 2 generational representatives. The struggles, the pressures, the challenges of life experienced by individuals were shared. There were encouragements, edification and deeper understanding between one another.

Issues ranging from 'Church Operational Matters' to 'PCC Members Nomination & Co-opting Process' were raised. Individual challenges such as 'Struggles as a Christian in the world' and 'A Young Adult's Needs' were discussed. It was really a fruitful time of interaction, communication, bridging and ENGAGING. I believe there were many resolutions within the discussions. If only there were more time to chat about more issues.

The initial Bridging is already done.

The question we need to ask now is this : "WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE?"

Do we go back to our own lives and back to normal in our approach to one another? Do we walk past each other on Sundays as if transparent? Would we stop, smile and chat with each other to know the other party better? Would we come out of 'clickish' comfort zones and make an effort to cross-interact with those we really don't know well? If we don't make a choice, if we don't make an effort, if we don't see the whole church as a family, we may just slip back to our everyday 'same-old'.

'...but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head - Christ - from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.' Ephesians 4:12 (NKJV)

Let's walk towards this : Growth internally and outwardly, individually and corporately in all of life's aspects... especially in God's agape Love and Word. Only then will we see things in harmony together, through His eyes.

Hi Dear Young Adults!

On 28th June 2008, some Adults are coming together for a common cause - to do BRIDGING with the younger generation of adults, thats us, the Young Adults! If you are from CHS and is between 19 - 40 years old, we want to welcome you to join us on this special day!

It will be a day of ENGAGING one another in Fun, Games, Food & Laughters!

The Updated Programme for that day is as follows:

1000am - Games (Bring Extra Change)

1130am - Wash Up (Shower Facilities Avail)

1200pm - Yummy Lunch

1230pm - BE ENGAGED!

The Adults seek to bridge with us, to hear us out, to share the experiences they have gone through in life with us. They want to ENGAGE you and you to ENGAGE them! ...And ultimately we want to be engaged with God!

The CHS Young Adults Ministry was launched on 28^th July 2007. This ministry focuses on reaching young adults between 19 years – 29 years of age. At this age range, young adults face many challenges (e.g. career, marketplace hurdles, BGR, marriage, raising kids, etc.). The ministry is to gather like-minded Young Adults who hunger for Jesus and desire to know Him personally through the following 8 E’s:

" Encouragement & Edification of the body through Equipping in the Word leading to Empowerment & intimate Encounter of the Holy Spirit and to be Exported to Marketplaces & Nations to Evangelise resulting in the Extension of His Kingdom"

The 8 "E"s spells out what is God’s plan for the Young Adult Ministry. Come join us! Let us journey together for an exciting time of seeking the Lord and encountering His plans which God has in store for us! Together we can chart new chapters in the history of CHS and in the Kingdom of God!
