Chapel of The Holy Spirit

We are certainly living in perilous times.  Look at Paul's instructions to Timothy in 2 Tim 3 : 1 - 6 and see how each description of ungodliness is being manifested in increasing manner:

"But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty.  For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen wih conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power.  AVOID SUCH PEOPLE." (emphasis mine) (ESV)

We are given a description of ungodly people and we are instructed to "Avoid such people."  It is obvious that such people will only contaminate our spiritual life or worst, draw us away from God.

While we must take heed to take this action of not be in fellowship with such ungodly people, we must also not miss the next crucial instruction from Apostle Paul to follow his "teaching" (v10) because his learning came from the Holy Scripture "which is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work." 

I would like to encourage all CHSians to be "deeply rooted in the Word of God" so that our transformation to Christ-likeness is from His Word and not from our own human effort or preferences.
