Chapel of The Holy Spirit

At the stroke of midnight on 31st Dec 08, many of us who were there for the Watchnight Service ushered in 2009!  I hope it wasn't 'deja vu' but a clear sense of God's Spirit lifting up our spirits in joyful expression and confidence in "offering our bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - which is our spiritual act of worship." (Rom 12:1)

However, there are many others who probably did not celebrate the New Year with revelry and rejoicing but rather being enveloped or overwhelmed with fear.  The FACT is that most of the fears are real - financial loses, jobs instability, poor health, political wars, losing loved ones or maybe simply not sure how you fared for your 'O' or 'A' levels exams.  This list could be expanded, I am sure, but maybe you could add your own unique situation.  If you did add your own unique situation, I want to share with you a TRUTH.

The TRUTH is that JESUS IS THE PRINCE OF PEACE! (Isaiah 9:6) and He can give you a BREAKTHROUGH!

After Jesus' crucifixion, the disciples were hurdled together "for fear of the Jews" (Jn 20:19).  They just 'lost' their leader to the most cruel way execution (an justly one though but all within God's plan) and were naturally worried for their lives.  Yet, the risen Lord Jesus Christ supernaturally came into their gathering and imparted a divine blessing to them : "Peace (Shalom) be with you!"   

The powerful TRUTH is this :  In the midst of any fearful situation, we can receive this divine impartation of this Shalom Peace which our human minds will never understand but our spirit within us can experience!  Call upon Him and He will answer you. (Jer 33:3) 

It is THIS peace that I am wishing all of you at the family of CHS.  I would like to wish this peace, too, to you if you are reading this article but you are not a CHS member or were at one time at CHS but not churched anymore. 

If fear is foremost on your mind, may this be the first breakthrough for you in 2009 through the power of Jesus Christ, our Prince of Peace!
