| MISSIONS - POSSIBLE! |

Well, Bangkok-Thailand. :-) Once every 3 years, the Diocesan Mission Board organises a Missions Consultation Roundtable Conference, this year being the 3rd in the series. The venue for this Missions Conference was discussed and agreed upon at the airport at North Carolina in early 2007. I remembered distinctively the discussion we had (as I was also at the New Wineskin Mission Conference held in North Carolina) and the choice of the venue cannot be a more "kairos" timing. Some 200 delegates attended the conference even with the knowledge of a potentially-sensitive confrontation with protesters and the police in front of the Thai parliament office. But, the "shalom" peace of God was with us! (Bro Alan Tan and Bro Mun Kong were there as well) The programme was packed with presentations and workshops by the 6 deanery countries plus a special presentation from Myanmar and two special evening presentations - one of economic empowerment and the other crisis relief ministry. I am thankful to God that I was able to present ACROSS (Anglican Crisis Relief Outreach & Support, Singapore). One thing is clear from this conference - the work of spreading the Gospel (the good news of Jesus Christ) will be challenging. The messages during the Holy Communion each morning was centered on the importance of relying on the Holy Spirit. Indeed, in all our outreach activities, our partner MUST BE THE HOLY SPIRIT! The networking amongst the Anglicans, both near and far, has taken on a new height and health. It is indeed a new era of partnership to further advance the Gospel of Christ. The unity and solidarity is unmistakenly present. Praise the Lord! Missions and evangelism is for everyone. Will you be counted in? Blessings, pastor michael
